Is Bigfoot the link between man and ape, another species of animal waiting to be discovered? Or perhaps a remnant of the Gigantopithecus, an extinct species of giant ape with humanlike teeth who's remains have been found in Asia? The answer to Bigfoot does exist and could be hidden in the midst of our imagination. What we want or choose to believe will not negate reality. How could something so big and seemingly intelligent come and go in a shrinking world where there are fewer and fewer habitats for small species, let alone big ones? Based on reports world wide, these creatures must number in the hundreds if not thousands. After many purported shootings, NOT ONE has ever been found injured or dead. Any animal can get entrapped or at least detected by hunting dogs in a few days. We as humans aren't that elusive. Without bones or a body or some other conclusive evidence of Bigfoot, this legendary– modern-day giant, where do we go for answers?

I have found nobody that claims absolute knowledge of what these creatures commonly known as Bigfoot really are or how they got here. I know of no one that has been closer to these creatures nor had more encounters than myself and the small Sierra group that I'm involved with. Lying in my sleeping bag within the camp shelter, I've heard and felt the jar of their massive bipedal walk while listening to them breath within feet of me. Bigfoot's gibberish-like vocalizations has left all of us puzzled as to what they were trying to convey.

All this has been and still is very exciting to those of us who have shared the experience, but none of it proves anything. Bigfoot has stayed one step ahead of every trick tried to prove their existence. The vocalizations established by the University of Wyoming as being authentic, is not proof enough. Roger Patterson's film footage is not proof enough. It appears that nothing, except a body, is going to be proof enough.

Where does all this take us? It seems Bigfoot can pop up almost anywhere, and then disappear just as quickly! A series of Bigfoot tracks may end just as abruptly as they began, leaving a tracker scratching his head. More than once I've heard a witness say that they watched the creature vanish, as if it had passed through some kind of dimensional gate. Telepathic abilities are sometimes attributed to these creatures and some witnesses report sensing an energy field, likening it to Star Trek's "force field." A UFO or other very unusual light phenomenons are sometimes reported in association with a Bigfoot encounter.

Of course some, perhaps many, of such reports are spoofs and others lack credibility. But, as with the principal phenomenon of Bigfoot, if just one such report is real, what does that leave us with?

After all these years of interviewing witnesses that report an encounter with a Bigfoot, and having pondered the unexplained mystical side of some events that have occurred at our Sierra camp, I wonder if Bigfoot could be something more that just another animal in the woods.

Having been reared a Christian and because archeological finds are becoming more and more supportive of biblical history I decided to research "giants" in the bible.

If we assume the written word as it appears in the Bible bears the truth about the way things were in the old world, perhaps these creatures represent something that exists independently of known natural law and should be respected for what they may be. Maybe they should be thought of as a possible link with the giants of old and then perhaps command a different approach to the way we search for them.

From the Anakims to the more notable Goliath, the bible is full of historical data pertaining to giants. But just how did they come into existence? The answer may be shocking to many.

The "Nephilim," translates to "Giants," and are first mentioned in the Old Testament of the bible.

"Nephilim" is from the root "naphal," which translates to "fallen ones." Most biblical scholars that have researched this Thoroughly, clearly believe that the "Sons of God" mentioned in Genesis were fallen angels – celestial beings that went against God's rule. These "fallen ones" impregnated human women. The offspring were called "Nephilim." Because of this mingling and the resulting violent and insolent offspring, God decided to destroy man that he had made (Gen. 6:7). God brought about a flood of unparalleled proportions destroying all mankind, except for Noah and his family (Gen. 6:18).

Much later, we read of Moses sending men to search the land of Canaan.

Giants again! —appearing in Canaan, after the flood? How did Giants make it through the flood? One explanation is that one of Noah's sons wives, probably Ham's wife, carried a recessive gene from the Nephilim. Noah's grandson was Canaan and many giants inhabited the land of Canaan. God commanded the extermination of the Canaanites (Nu. 21:3).

Another explanation is that celestial beings and human women mixed again. Although the original fallen ones were bound in the earth (Jude 6 & 7) that does not negate the possibility of other celestial beings impregnating women. Just as we were given a "free will" so were angels. Some followed God's leadership and some did not, they made their choice.

Going after strange flesh – Set forth for an example? An example for whom? How about other fallen ones that were not chained under darkness? These "fallen ones" are still out and about and they envy Man (Psalm 8: 4,5,6 & Heb: 2: 7,8) – made in the image of God.

The bible tells us that one third of the angels in heaven fell, choosing to be disobedient to God and follow Lucifer. However, according to the Book of Enoch only two hundred descended to earth in the days of Jared, polluting mankind. This happened in 3543 B.C. (Book of Jubilee). Nowhere in the bible does it say that angels are sexless. As opposed to man, it appears they were made eternal with no need to procreate. Nowhere are female angels mentioned in the bible, only male. Celestial beings, created eternal, can have a desire for women (Gen: 6: 1,2).

In the New Testament, hundreds of years later, the apostle Paul wrote to the church at Corinth.

Many believe that "power on her head" means a "veil," showing her submission to a man. However, the later part of this verse clearly carries a meaning that the woman should "hide her head because of the angels." Why? Could angels still have desired women in Paul's days – after Christ was here? Was this a warning from Paul?

If one is to believe the bible, celestial beings can, and did, rebel against God's rule and impregnate human women. However this free will act of these angels interferes with God's plan and His special creation made for man and man alone, the woman. This insubordinate act begat giants and Bigfoot is a giant.

Fathered by angels, the giants of old began their lives on earth. They were obviously very large and biblical history records them as warring. The bible shows a definite history of God's continued methodology of destroying giants that attempt to dominate. Spiritually perfect, genetically perfect, without flaw, "man" made in God's image, with a living soul, was created to dominate the earth (Gen. 1:28), not giants from celestial beings. From meteorites to floods, God, operating within His own environmental laws, has shown His favoritism, over and over, toward a perfect and unblemished race of beings, man. Unlike primitive man, i.e. Neanderthal, Cro-Magnon, modern man was given an eternal soul, making us a very special race of beings.

The concept of giants appear in every country's mythology, from Greek and Roman to the Norsemen and most Native Americans. Many myths and legends began with a truth. Could Bigfoot be a remnant from the giants of old? Or could other celestial beings have impregnated human women again? Could Bigfoot, being a descendant caused by a fusion of heavenly and earthly beings, know and operate within a rule of law that we have not yet learned about.

I have not personally experienced a threat while in the presence of these elusive creatures and when they were trying to communicate. Perhaps, if they are not just another animal in the woods, their folklore has given them an understanding of the consequences if they interfere too much with man and therefore refrain from being too much involved.

We as humans have a tendency to be a little closed minded when it comes to probing the paranormal or metaphysical. It may be time to open our minds and entertain the unthinkable. Whether we like it or not there are probably things that we just aren't aware of. The unknown must be sought and understood for us to evolve to a higher order.

* In 1773, James Bruce, a Scottish explorer, discovered in what is now Ethiopia, The Book of Enoch. More can be found about the "Nephilim," "fallen angels" and "watchers" in the "Book of Enoch." "Watchers" are also mentioned in the book Daniel, chapter 4.

* Giants mentioned in the bible are the Anakims, the Rephaims, the Zuzims and the Emims. The Valley of Rephaim, also known as the Valley of the Giants, is a spot which was the scene of some of David's most remarkable adventures. He twice encountered and defeated the Philistines there.

* We know Goliath was a champion for the Philistine's. Goliath was not a Philistine but probably descended from the old Rephaim (Giants), of whom a scattered remnant took refuge with the Philistines after their dispersion by the Ammonites. Deut. 2:20,21 & 2 Sam. 21:22. As noted in the previous scriptures there were many giants in Philistine, however giants mixed with the Philistine's (Ne. 13: 23,24) and some were disfigured as noted in 2 Sam. 21:20. We see a recorded history of giants descending through time in the Old Testament.
